What is a Statement of Purchase?

Every artwork sold on ArtSnap is accompanied by a Tagsmart Statement of Purchase which incorporates anti-counterfeiting measures. This document contains the full catalogue description of the artwork as well as basic information on how it was acquired by its seller. Your seller’s name and location will be included on the Statement if they have opted in to sharing their information with buyers.

Where do ArtSnap artworks come from?

ArtSnap is a marketplace, which means our artworks come from collectors, artists, dealers and galleries. All ArtSnap consignors will go through a bank-standard identity and Anti-Money Laundering checks. While the seller may prefer to keep their identity private, we will always know they are trustworthy.

Can I return my purchase?

Once you receive your artwork, you have 14 days to return it if you are not happy with your purchase. Provided the artwork is still in the same condition, we will reimburse you fully, although it is your responsibility to cover return postage. If you would like to return an artwork, please contact us first at info@art-snap.com.

How long will it take to receive my purchase?

This is somewhat dependent on where the seller is located. As soon as we receive your payment in full, we instruct the seller to send the work to you. This will be via courier or specialist shipper, depending on the artwork you’ve purchased. For deliveries to Europe and the US, most orders are delivered within two weeks and we will let you know if it is likely to take longer, for example if your seller is away. For all other destinations, you should expect delivery in 4-6 weeks.

Can I see an artwork before I buy?

ArtSnap acts as a drop-shipper. This means the works remain with the seller until the point of purchase, at which point our shipping partners arrange collection from the seller and delivery to you.  As the works remain with the sellers, it can be difficult to arrange for you to view a work. How do I become a seller with ArtSnap?

We are always thrilled to welcome new sellers - collectors, artists, dealers, and galleries are all welcome to sell with us. All ArtSnap sellers go through a bank-standard identity and Anti-Money Laundering checks. Your identity is kept private unless you inform us otherwise, but our checks mean that we can give peace of mind to ArtSnap buyers.

When I sell a work, how long does it take to get paid?

You will receive the proceeds of your sale two weeks after the work has been delivered to the buyer. This is because the buyer has the right to return the work up to 14 days after receipt. We have an exceptionally low returns rate and you will not incur any additional postage fees if a buyer chooses to return a work in this timeframe. We also only allow returns of works in the same condition they were received in. 

How does shipping work?

When you sell an artwork, the ArtSnap support team will contact you to give you packaging guidance and help you to arrange shipping. For many shipping routes, we will arrange a courier on your behalf. If we agree that you will arrange shipping yourself, once you send us the shipping invoice and tracking number we will reimburse your shipping costs.

How does pricing work?

When you submit a work for sale, we ask you to provide us with your desired net (take-home) price. We check this against recent market intelligence and previous sales records of comparable pieces, as well as what information is known on the condition and provenance of the artwork. On occasion, we may recommend pricing changes based on first-hand or more detailed examination of the work, recent market conditions or currency fluctuations.

Are there fees or costs to sell with ArtSnap?

When you sell with us, we work to your pre-agreed net price. We take a transparent commission on top so you know what you'll take home when you sell. Very occasionally, the condition of your work may have to be inspected in person or additional photography might be necessary, but any additional costs will be discussed with sellers ahead of time.

I have a large collection of artworks or objects to sell. Can you help?

If you are looking to sell a large collection or you are overseeing the sale of an Estate, we can help. Please send a summary of the works you would like to sell along with images to sell@art-snap.com and we will work with you from there.

I just submitted works for review. When can I expect a reply from ArtSnap?

We aim to respond to all submissions within 48 hours. If it’s a particularly busy time, it may take longer for our specialist team to assess items and we will notify you accordingly.

What if I don't have a photo of the artwork I want to sell?

It is essential that we see good quality images of any artwork you’d like to sell. If you are having difficulty uploading images, our team can assist you so please contact us at support@art-snap.com.

How quickly can artworks from my collection be sold?

We offer new works every week so it is possible for us to list works for sale in a matter of days. If you’re keen to sell quickly, competitive pricing is a must.

Do I need to offer my works exclusively with ArtSnap?

No. If you do list a work with us and it becomes unavailable, we do ask that you notify us immediately.
