FAQs

Buyers

Where do the artworks come from?

Artworks offered on ArtSnap come from galleries, dealers and collectors. ArtSnap plays the role of intermediary and takes a commission on the transaction.

Can I return my purchase?

Yes. You have 14 days after you received the artwork to return it if you are not happy with your purchase. Provided the artwork is still in the same condition, we will reimburse you fully.

How long does it take to receive my purchase?

As soon as we receive you payment in full, we will send the artwork to the delivey address by courrier or a dedicated art shipper depending on the size and fragility of the work. For deliveries to Europe and the US, we intend to deliver within two weeks. For all other destinations, we intend to deliver in 4-6 weeks.

How do I know if the work is authentic?

Every artwork offered on ArtSnap has been vetted thoroughly by art specialists with decades of experience. If you have any doubt, you always return the work and we will reimburse you fully.

Can I see the works before buying?

Yes, in some occasions, you can see the works before buying them. You can always ask for additional photos, or condition reports as well. Just email us at support@art-snap.com

Sellers

When do I get paid?

If this is the first time you are selling with us, you will receive the proceeds of your sale once the work has been delivered and opened by the buyer, which can take a couple of weeks. If you have already sold successfully with us, you will receive the net proceeds as soon as the work is shipped, so just a couple of days after the work has been sold. Please do note that the buyer has the right to return the work after 14 days, in which case you will have to return the net proceeds to us.

Will I have to arrange shipping?

Once the work is sold you will have to pack and arrange shipping of the work. ArtSnap support team will be here to support and help you if you have any questions. Once the work is shipped, you send us the shipping invoice and tracking number and we will reimburse you the shipping costs.

How do things get priced?

The sale price is based on recent market intelligence and previous sales records of comparable pieces, when available. Additionally, condition and provenance, or the history of your work of art, are two important factors in determining the value of your work. Although we strive to provide the most accurate representation of value, the sale prices we provide are provisional, and subject to revision upon first-hand examination of the property, and could be subject to change upon further research of the property or to reflect recent market conditions or currency fluctuations.

Are there any hidden fees or costs to consign?

There is no hidden fees or costs to consign. Occasionally, the condition of your work may have to be inspected in person or additional photography might be necessary. Costs associated with these processes may be charged to the seller.

How much money will I make?

You will receive between 70 and 80% of the sale price, which makesArtSnap by far the most competitive market place to sell your artworks. There is no Seller's Commission or Buyer's Premium like in traditional auction houses. ArtSnap will just add its margin on top of the price agreed between you and ArtSnap's specialists. Fees are detailed on ArtSnap Fees Details.

What if I have a large collection of objects to submit?

If you are looking to sell a large group of property or to liquidate an Estate, our dedicated Estates team will assist you. Please send an illustrated listing of the works you would like to sell and your contact details directly to sell@art-snap.com.

I just submitted works for review; when can I expect a reply from Art Snap?

Upon receiving images and details of your work, our specialist team will carefully assess each item and respond to you within ten business days.

What if I don't have a photo of my work?

Seeing an image of your submission is an essential part of the valuation process. Unfortunately we cannot provide an accurate estimate without images. However, if you are having difficulty uploading the images to our submission form, our Client Service department will be happy to assist you. Please contact us at support@art-snap.com

How quickly can works from my collection be sold?

Our specialists will suggest the most appropriate sale for your work of art. We have sales every week so it is possible for us to list your work in a sale in a matter of weeks. On average, it takes about four weeks to process and slate for an upcoming sale.

If I submit my artwork or collectible for a valuation, am I required to sell it with Art Snap?

No. If you submit your work to Art Snap and we provide an estimate, you are under no obligation to sell.
